HiWAAY Offers DSL Service
Huntsville, Ala. (February 16, 2000) - HiWAAY Information Services is proud to introduce its
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service for businesses in the Huntsville and Birmingham areas.
These DSL solutions are engineered to fit the specific needs of each business.
HiWAAY's DSL access service allows downstream speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps and upstream
speeds of up to 768 Kbps. According to Mark Derrick, HiWAAY's chief technical officer, "As
the newest technology in high-speed access, there are some limitations in the geographic areas of
service within the cities of Huntsville and Birmingham. However, for those businesses that will be
able to use this new service, DSL provides a high-speed, low-cost solution."
Most businesses today have their own web site. While high-speed access is important,
businesses also need to have a place to host their site. "This is a truly unique DSL solution you're
not likely to find elsewhere. In addition to high-speed access, HiWAAY DSL customers will
also receive full domain name services, web hosting and email boxes," Brad Towery,
HiWAAY's sales manager said.
